WHADS

Wellington Heath
Amateur Dramatic Society

Wellington Heath Amateur Dramatic Society (WHADS) stages published plays as well as one-act plays, pantomimes and radio plays, written by our members, and generally aims to stage at least two productions a year.

WHADS also helps to put on sketch shows and other entertainment in support of various village events including the Christmas Concert and church fundraisers.

The village pantomimes, which are usually staged every other year, are very much a community activity. These involve a large cast, ranging in age from 6 upwards, with a variety of theatrical experience. Our Sunday afternoon panto rehearsals are complemented by tea, biscuits and homemade cake.

We are always looking for acting talent (from age 6-106) as well as backstage, management, technical and artistic support.
No previous experience necessary.

Further information about WHADS, together with photographs from previous productions, can be found on the Wellington Heath village website.

2024: Don’t Go Into The Woods & Wellington Heath PI

In November WHADS took to the stage again. This year it wasn’t a panto, but a pastiche of Sondheim’s Into the Woods, chosen in order to squeeze in as many fairy-tale characters as possible. Plus the next instalment of Richard Allsopp's famous radio play hero, Wellington Heath PI. It was a bumper evening of entertainment enjoyed by all and I think it’s fair to say that the fabulous children stole the show.
Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support us.
